Robert Stephen Mangano, 61, of Bound Brook passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Care One at Somerset Valley in Bound Brook.

He was born in Smithtown, Long Island, NY on March 5, 1965, a son of Dorothy Cannava Mangano and the late Carmen Mangano.  He grew up in Stockholm and had lived in Wantage and Sparta before moving to Bound Brook one month ago.

Robert was a 1983 graduate of Wallkill Valley Regional High School in Hardyston Township.

He was an electrical contractor employed by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union No. 102 in Parsippany for 30 years retiring in 2020.

Robert loved fishing and boating and the beach.  He loved his children and taking them on family vacations to Disneyland and Disney World.  He enjoyed antiquing and trains.  He also enjoyed football and baseball.

He was predeceased by his father, Carmen Mangano who died in 2021.

Mr. Mangano is survived by a daughter, Julianne Mangano of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a son, Ryan Mangano of Orlando, FL; his mother, Dorothy Mangano of Long Beach Township; 3 sisters, Dorothy Cappiello and her husband, Daniel, of Blairstown, Cathy DeLitizia of Pompton Plains and Elizabeth Mangano and her husband, Andrew Simon, of Far Hills; 9 nieces and nephews, Jake, Tea`, Nathan, Carissa, Daniel, Christopher, Matthew, Alex and Samantha; 4 great nieces and nephews, Willow, Maeve, Isaac and Brock; and his former wife, Claudine Wingle of Ruskin, FL.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are by Layton Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Bedminster.
