Ming Lu, 80, of Bedminster passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at Waterfront Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Raritan.

He was born in Shanghai, China on April 8, 1946, a son of the late Shou Yan Lu and Ru Gong Zhu.  He immigrated from China to the United States in September 1990.  He had lived in Queens, NY and Westchester County, NY before moving to Bedminster 10 years ago.

Mr. Lu was a self-employed acupuncturist having maintained offices in New York City and Queens, NY for several years retiring in 2013.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife.

He was predeceased by a brother, Qi Zhu, and a sister, Yao Dan Lu.

Mr. Lu is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jian H. Zhao; his daughter, Shen Stella McCarthy and her husband, Brian, of Basking Ridge; 2 granddaughters, Claire McCarthy and Eloise McCarthy; and a brother, Lun Lu of Shanghai, China.

Private family visitation and cremation services were held under the direction of Layton Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Bedminster.
