Michael Steven Barth, 70, of Far Hills passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville.

He was born in Elizabeth on September 27, 1955, a son of Danette Benita Aurahan and the late James T. Barth, Sr.   He grew up in Colonia and had been a resident of Far Hills for over 30 years.

Mike was a graduate of Seton Hall University receiving his law degree.

Mr. Barth was a network engineer employed by AT&T in Bedminster for 40 years.

He was a member of Liberty Corner Fire Department Station 40 and served with the Fire Police.  He was a member of Grace Fellowship Chapel in Bedminster and enjoyed bible study meetings at Trackside Restaurant in Far Hills.

Michael was a gentleman farmer and enjoyed maple syruping, raising chickens and planting trees on his property.  He was a car and boat enthusiast and enjoyed collecting and tinkering with them.  He enjoyed studying law and doing behind the scenes law investigation.

He is predeceased by his father, James T. Barth, Sr.

Mr. Barth is survived by his wife of 25 years, Nancy A. Barth; a son, Michael A. Barth of Far Hills; a daughter, Michelle M. Barth of Far Hills; his mother, Danette Christiansen of Jacksonville Beach, FL; and a brother, James T. Barth, Jr. and his wife, Kathryn J. Kennedy, of Ponte Vedra, FL.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Grace Fellowship Chapel, 355 Main Street, Bedminster, NJ  07921.  Arrangements are by Layton Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Bedminster.
