Mabel E. Truppi, 94, of Whitehall, PA and formerly of Rockaway, NJ passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest in Allentown, PA.

She was born in Morristown on September 26, 1929, a daughter of the late Cecil and Letha Barker Sutton.  She grew up in Pottersville and had lived in Rockaway for 62 years before moving to Whitehall Manor in Whitehall, PA 5 years ago.

Mabel was a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.  She loved gardening, taking care of her yard and shoveled snow up until the age of 89.  She loved animals; enjoyed knitting and crocheting, playing cards and completing word search puzzles.  Mabel had a quick wit and enjoyed playing pranks on family members.

Mrs. Truppi is predeceased by her husband, Carl A. Truppi, who died September 8, 1988; and by her three siblings, Robert Sutton, LeRoy Sutton and Ruth DeCoster.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Anna Hile of Wescosville, PA; her son, Glenn R. Truppi and his wife, Nancy, of Spencer, WV; 5 grandchildren, Shannon, Jessica, Christopher, Keith and Jamie; and 13 great grandchildren.

As per Mabel’s wishes, no viewing or services were held.  A private burial took place on Friday, December 1st at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to one’s local animal shelter.  Arrangements are by Layton Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Bedminster.
