Evelyn K. Mack, 98, of Tewksbury Township passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington.

She was born in Newark on September 23, 1925, the only child of the late Frederick and Katherine Holland Eberle.  She had been a resident of Tewksbury Township  since 1969.

Evelyn enjoyed her childhood growing up in Newark with her three cousins.  She was a graduate of East Side High School in Newark, attended a Presbyterian Church in Newark, and was a member of a music club in Newark.  She took piano lessons on the same piano that she still owns today.

Mrs. Mack was the accounts payable and payroll clerk for the United States Golf Association in Far Hills from 1972 to 1992.  She had previously worked for a lumber company in Newark and as a clerk in the enrollment department of Blue Cross Blue Shield in Newark.

Evelyn loved all animals, especially dogs, having been the human companion to many.  She was fiercely independent and maintained her own home despite being legally blind up until five months ago.

She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard B. Mack, who passed away in November 1982.

Evelyn is survived by a nephew, Robert W. Hilken of Pawleys Island, SC and by a dear friend, Lois Homa of Virginia Beach, VA.
