Dominic Guariglia, 101, of East Hanover passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Livia Senior Living of East Hanover.

He was born in Montclair on March 10, 1925, a son of the late Vincent and Filomena Innarella Guariglia.  He had lived in Florham Park before moving to East Hanover 60 years ago.

Dominic was a US Coast Guard veteran of World War II having served from 1943 to 1946 attaining the rank of seaman first class.

Mr. Guariglia was the vice president of sales employed by Fidelity Paper and Supply Corporation in Bloomfield for many years retiring in 2001.  After retirement, he worked in the mailroom and delivered the mail at Investors banks in Short Hills until January 2021.

He was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Cabiria Sponzilli Guariglia, who died December 18, 2023; and by a brother, Pierre Guariglia who died in 2015.

Mr. Guariglia is survived by his daughter, Jody Varvaro and her husband, Charles, of Warren; 2 grandsons, John C. Varvaro and Christopher W. Varvaro; and a brother, Vincent Guariglia of East Hanover.

Funeral services and entombment will be held at Somerset Hills Memorial Park Chapel, 95 Mt. Airy Road, Basking Ridge on Friday, September 4 at 11:30am.  Arrangements are by Layton Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Bedminster.
