William Thomas Barfuss, 69, of Far Hills passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at his home.
He was born in Orange on May 21, 1952, a son of the late Carl and Catherine Mobray Barfuss. He had lived in Randolph and Denville before moving to Far Hills in 2001. He also maintained a shore house in Mantoloking.
He was a 1974 graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison receiving a bachelor of science degree in marketing.
Bill was an owner and operator of Harvard Press, Inc. in Orange for 37 years retiring in 2009.
Bill enjoyed captaining his boat “The Watermark” and loved deep sea fishing. He greatly enjoyed family gatherings and grilling outside. He had a knack for fixing a variety of things and took special interest in all things electrical.
He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly M. Barfuss of Brick; his son, Ryan W. Barfuss of Brick; his brother, C. Richard Barfuss and his wife, Wendy, of Far Hills; two sisters, Susan B. Gold and her husband, Gary, and Catherine A. Pollin both of Fort Myers, FL; and his beloved dog, Ollie.
A visitation will be held at the Layton Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Bedminster on Saturday, February 12th from 1:00pm to 3;00PM. A service of remembrance will follow at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 6675-8516.
