Ruth E. Kurzenberger, 96, of Bedminster passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville.

She was born in New Brunswick on September 7, 1926, a daughter of the late Loyal H. and Ruth A. Palmer Robinson.  She had resided in Basking Ridge until moving to Bedminster in 1948.

Ruth was a 1943 graduate of Bernards High School in Bernardsville and attended Berkeley Secretarial School.

Mrs. Kurzenberger was a medical assistant employed by Dr. James Ziegler of Bernardsville for 10 years.

Ruth was a member of the Rough and Tumble Engineers Historical Society of Kinzers, PA; a volunteer at the Wallace House State Historical Site in Somerville; and a member of the former Bedminster Reformed Church.

She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Kurzenberger, who died on September 8, 2007.

Mrs. Kurzenberger is survived by two sons, Lee A. Kurzenberger of Bedminster and W. James Kurzenberger of Upper Pittsgrove; two daughters, Lynne Wissink – Tressler and her husband, Ernie, of Fort Myers, FL and Anne Kurzenberger of Sea Girt; her grandson, William J. Kurzenberger and his fiance, Gabrielle Escribano, of Avenel; and her two cats, Clawdya and Jackie.

A graveside service will be held at Somerset Hills Hills Memorial Park, 95 Mt. Airy Road, Basking Ridge on Saturday, July 8 at 11:00am.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be  made to the Far Hills – Bedminster First Aid Squad, P.O. Box 834, Far Hills, NJ  07931.  Arrangements are by Layton Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Bedminster.
