Nancy Randolph Madsen Hance passed away peacefully of natural causes on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

Nancy was born in 1944 in Plainfield, NJ, and she lived most of her life in Pottersville, NJ and Bay Head, NJ.  Nancy was a graduate of the Hartridge School, Bennett College and Tufts University; after which she taught at St. Luke’s School of Trinity Parish in New York, NY.

She was an active member of Lamington Presbyterian Church in Bedminster, NJ and The Garden Club of Somerset Hills.  She served on the board of trustees of St. Andrew’s School in Middletown, DE for several years, and later she served on the board of St. Philip’s Academy in Newark, NJ for several years.

Nancy was a kind, thoughtful and extremely positive person who loved the company of her immediate family, extended family and friends.

Surviving her are her husband of 57 years, Charles E. (Sandy) Hance; her three children, Beccy and her husband Rocco, Anne and Whitt; her three grandchildren, Rocky, Matthew and Thomas; her two brothers, John and Peter Madsen; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
