Martha M. “Dee” Colantono, 91, of Peapack passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at her home.

She was born April 24, 1933, a daughter of the late Warren and Anna Wright.  She grew up in Millington and Basking Ridge, and had lived in the same house in Peapack for the last 70 years.

Martha worked at home for many years doing laundry for families, before going to work at Komline – Sanderson Engineering Corporation in Peapack in 1970, retiring from there after approximately 30 years.

Martha loved playing cards and going out to lunch with her friends; and up until about one year ago, you could always count on seeing a jigsaw puzzle in progress on her kitchen table.  However, her true “happy place” was playing the slot machines at the casino.  Win or lose, she loved going there.

She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Anthony W. Colantono, who passed away on April 10, 2012; and by her four siblings, her sisters, Doris Simonet and Beverly Hensley, and her brothers, Warren “Topper” Wright and Walter “Buzzy” Wright.

She is survived by her son, Tony Colantono and his wife, Karen, of Escondido, CA; her daughter, Debbie Trapani and her husband, Andrew, of Bridgewater; 5 grandchildren, Brian Trapani, Michael (Kelly) Trapani, Jennifer (Nick) Underseth, Matthew Colantono and William Colantono; and by 4 great grandchildren who she adored with all her heart, Addison and Everly Trapani and Jude and Gwen Underseth.

Private entombment services will be held at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Peapack – Gladstone First Aid Squad, St. Lukes Avenue, Gladstone, NJ  07934.  Arrangements are by Layton Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Bedminster.
