Marlene R. Romero

Marlene R. Romero, 73, of Bedminster passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at her home.

She was born in Newark on October 5, 1949, a daughter of the late Morris and Estelle Nacht Sobel.  She had lived in Bridgewater for 16 years before moving to Bedminster in 2011.

Marlene was a 1971 graduate of Montclair State College receiving a bachelor’s degree in Spanish.

Marlene was an administrative assistant employed by Sanofi in Bridgewater for 34 years before retiring in 2019.

She was a devoted grandmother and mother.

She was predeceased by her brother, Alan Sobel.

Marlene is survived by her son, Michael J. Romero of Bedminster and his fiance, Nadine Chayka; and her granddaughter, Elizabeth D. Romero of Bedminster.

A visitation was held on Wednesday, December 21 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm followed by a celebration of life memorial at 7:00pm at the Layton Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Bedminster.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made a charity of one’s choice.
