Dr. William George McAuliffe, DC, 94, of Tewksbury Township passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021 at his home. Born in New York City, NY, he was a son of the late Michael and Mary Ryan McAuliffe. He had been a resident of Tewksbury Township since 1964. Mr. McAuliffe was a US Navy veteran of World War II. He was proud of his association with the National Rifle Team that won a national championship during the 1950s. Dr. McAuliffe was a chiropractor having maintained an office in Clinton for nearly forty years. He was also a certified clinical nutritionist operating from his home. He had completed and passed 300 hours of clinical nutritional study; as well as, being a wellness and nutrition lecturer at the Olympic training grounds in Colorado Springs, CO and a nutritional consultant to the US Army Special Forces in Fort Benning, GA. Other titles and certificates he held include; Diplomate American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedics, Fellow Academy Chiropractic Orthopedics, Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, and Diplomate American Clinical Board of Nutrition. He was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn R. Hines McAuliffe, who died April 10, 2011; and by three siblings, Philip, Charles and Mary Theresa McAuliffe. Surviving are his daughter, Maryann McAuliffe of Tewksbury Township; a son, Jim McAuliffe and his wife, Adrienne DiGiovine, of Newtown, PA; 2 grandsons, Cal and Ethan McAuliffe of Newtown, PA; and a brother, Frank McAuliffe and his wife, Catherine, of Meriden, CT. Funeral gathering at the Layton Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Bedminster on Saturday, July 24 at 9:30am followed by a mass at St. Brigid Church, 129 Main Street, Peapack at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge. Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7pm.
