Ruth A. Stahl, 93, of Bedminster passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at her home.

She was born in Hillside on November 10, 1930, a daughter of the late Kurt and Bertha Buehlinger Metzger.  She had lived in Hillside until moving to Bedminster in 1958.

Mrs. Stahl was a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.

Ruth enjoyed the opera and travelling.  She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Church in Far Hills and was active in taking trips organized through the church.

She is predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Stahl, who died April 16, 1993; and by a son, Robert T. Stahl, who died October 17, 2014.

Mrs. Stahl is survived by 4 sons, Raymond F. Stahl of Winston Salem, NC, David J. Stahl of Bedminster, John F. Stahl of Stewartstown, PA, and Theodore K. Stahl of Somerville; 3 daughters, Terry Hooretz of Lebanon, Annmarie Martin of Flemington and Mary Stahl of West Amwell; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a sister, Peggy Denning of Brick; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, July 10 at 11:00am at St. Elizabeth Church, 34 Peapack Road, Far Hills.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Basking Ridge.  A private viewing for family only will be held prior to the funeral mass.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas  66675-8516 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.  Arrangements are by Layton Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Bedminster.
