Dolores S. Hamilton, 89, of Bridgewater passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023 at Laurel Circle Health Center in Bridgewater.

She was born in Newark on November 12, 1933, a daughter of the late Charles and Rose Calavano Falcone.  She grew up in Union and had been a resident of Bridgewater for the past 56 years.

Dolores was a graduate of Union High School in Union.

Mrs. Hamilton was a wife, mother and homemaker who also held several part-time jobs including; working at the Pluckemin A&P in the Deli Department, as an office clerical worker, and as a teller at the Summit Savings and Loan in Bedminster from 1989 too 1995.

She was married in Union on November 6, 1954 to William A. Hamilton, who passed away on March 6, 2010.  She is also predeceased by 2 sons, William A. Hamilton, Jr. who died July 26, 1994 and Scott R. Hamilton who died April 12, 2008; and by 2 sisters, Helen Donovan and Eileen Lewis.

Mrs. Hamilton is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James A. and Cathy Hamilton of Bridgewater; 2 brothers, Charles “Sonny” Shanley and his wife, Sonya, of Pawley’s Island, SC and Mal Shanley and his wife, Noreen, of Somerset; and a beloved dog, Zoe, a doberman pincher.

Private funeral services will be held Friday, March 17th at the Layton Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Bedminster with interment at Bedminster Reformed Church Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens’ Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
